When it comes to quality printed blister and header cards no one does it better than Cincinnati Printers. The quality of color consistency on our combination runs exceeds any other packaging printer in the industry. Our turn times display our commitment to customer service.
Blister packages most commonly come in either sealable blisters or fold over blisters. Sealable blisters use a heat sensitive adhesive coating. The fold over blister card is used when there is need for added strength and security. Header cards are generally scored, folded and stapled to the top of a bag that contains a product.
Blister cards and header cards, as well as blister shells can be produced either as a combination run or a dedicated run. The most economical is the combination run where the setup charges are dispersed across several customers by combining various customers' cards on the same sheet.
The combination blister/header card program allows customers to share real estate on a press sheet with other cards to save money. In turn, it is much more cost effective but has a longer lead time than a dedicated run. Cincinnati Printers offers short run quantities beginning at only 1,000 blister cards. The standard combination run includes four-color process printed fronts with black back, printed on 21pt SBS in quantities of 1,000, 2,500, 5,000, 7,500, 15,000, 25,000, 50,000, 75,000 and 100,000.
Dedicated blister/header card runs are best for higher volumes. There is more insurance to have consistant color from run-to-run with this type of order. The other advantage with dedicated runs is that lead times are generally shorter than the combination runs. Dedicated runs can be specific to one SKU, or to lessen the one-time cost of the dedicated runs, clients combine groups of SKUs in the same color family. This is called a dedicated combination run.
